NEW EDITION, REVISED AND UPDATED Since its original publication in 2000, Leadership and Self-Deception has become a word-of-mouth phenomenon. Its sales continue to increase year after year, and the book’s popularity has gone global, with editions now available in over twenty languages. Through a story everyone can relate to about a man facing challenges on the job and in his family, the authors expose the fascinating ways that we can blind ourselves to our true motivations and unwittingly sabotage the effectiveness of our own efforts to achieve success and increase happiness. This new edition has been revised throughout to make the story even more compelling. And drawing on the extensive correspondence the authors have received over the years, they have added a section that outlines the many ways that readers have been using Leadership and Self-Deception to improve their lives and workplaces—areas such as team building, conflict resolution, and personal growth and development, to name a few. Read this extraordinary book and discover what millions already have learned—how to consistently tap into an innate ability that dramatically improves both your results and your relationships.

This book is super helpful. I want my husband and family to read it. I purchased the audio book version and I would have given the book 5 stars because the content is so encouraging, but the man who reads the audio version of this book has a really, really annoying voice. This is why I give it only 4 starts. Good luck, get reading, even if the guys voice is annoying, you need this information because it is so helpful.
  • Good concepts but hokey delivery

I know this book will connect with a lot of people but for me the dialog was just too hokey and unbelievable. I definitely will take parts of this and apply them immediately to my work and home life. I just didn't really enjoy reading the book.

Great book, incisive, clear and provocative. Will help refine my executive coaching and team development practice. Only when I see that I have made objects out of people, blamed them for what I do, denied any responsibility for what I just wrote but instead use their perceived problems to justify my poor treatment of them...which in turn causes the problems I then see...only as I see my own culpability do I begin to see clearly. I move from inside my box of self deception to outside the box, where I can see things more clearly and act more effectively. A beautiful and important book.

Outstanding, life changing, brilliant. Best business book I have read in the last ten years. This book transcends business and should be required reading for every high school senior before graduating.
  • Life Altering

This book will not only teach you a lot about how to be a "true" leader and what it takes. It will also change your outlook on personal relationships and your part in them. Highly recommended!

This is probably the best leadership book I have read. I wish more leaders that needed this book would be willing to read it.
